Hoonah Landslide Survey

Hoonah Indian Association is working with the City of Hoonah, partners of the Kutí Landslide Network, Elizabeth Figus, and many other partners to understand issues around landslides. This survey will help us better understand what you think of landslides and if you have any thoughts or concerns about how we share data around landslides. This survey will always be available, but if you respond by July 15th you will be eligible for a door prize drawing for a $250 Visa Giftcard. If you have questions about this survey please contact Ian Johnson at Hoonah Indian Association. 908 802 3200, ian.johnson@hiatribe.org.

  1. Hoonah is built upon the same shale type rock as “The Tunnel” was before it was blasted away further fracturing it enough for a slide that claimed a life. The last slide “in town” ended on Hemlock impacting the house/property below it, Paul Rudolph’s house.
