You have heard “A lot can change in a year”. Taking this expression very seriously, the piece of lot that was once vacant above the HIA main office is now the home of Hoonah’s commercial-scale, state of the art greenhouse. The facility began construction in April 2024 and completed construction in April 2025. This incredible building will operate to meet Hoonah’s needs in food and food security and create new jobs and economic opportunity. This greenhouse was made possible through the efforts of many and funding from several organizations. We’ll be celebrating and thanking our funders and partners in another article, but for now please enjoy this transformation and remember – A lot can change in a year!
