The time has come! Join us on Saturday, September 7th to celebrate Hoonah’s culture, community, and food at the second Traditional Food Fair! There will be games including a traditional food Bingo and cakewalk, a free meal, a raffle, jarred food distribution, a cooking competition, and plenty of fun!
Feeling extra enthusiastic? Can you make or know someone else that makes mouth-watering fry bread? Sign up for the fry bread competition at the bottom of this post! The first three winners get a prize, and of course bragging rights!
The rules:
1. You must make your own fry bread
2. Only one entry per person (one entry = a dozen pieces)
3. Leftover fry bread can be donated to the Traditional Food Fair for the meal
We would love to have you attend this event! Promote traditional knowledge and culture and appreciate the what the natural environment provides for us by sharing a meal and fun with your community.
If you want to be more involved, we are looking for volunteers to help set-up/break-down, run food, and facilitate games. Please consider donating some of your time to help make this event a success!
